Who can go to Japan and not come back with some kind of tea or tea-flavoured omiyage (souvenir)? This is however, definitely not your typical souvenir store. Tucked a few blocks away from the nearest Shotengai, you’d wonder where their customers would come from.
But a chat reveals that they used to be located in the shopping street but the elderly proprietor said they decided to convert part of their house into a storefront since they didn’t have to pay rent. And despite the quiet location, they seem to have a loyal following, with their regulars even calling in from overseas to order.
